Voltaren Emulgel® Gel and Voltaren Pain Gel are different oral medications that treat inflammation and pain. These medications work differently to relieve pain and reduce inflammation compared to Voltaren Emulgel® gel. The active ingredient in Voltaren Emulgel® gel is diclofenac sodium, which is known as a topical steroid.
Because Voltaren Emulgel® Gel contains the same ingredient as Voltaren Emulgel® Gel, the gel is also the same gel.
To help you understand which medications are the same strength, read the label and the package insert carefully. Voltaren Emulgel® Gel and Voltaren Pain Gel are formulated to combine the properties of Voltaren Emulgel® gel and Voltaren Emulgel® gel combination.
The gel is typically shipped directly to your door in a disposable bottle. Because Voltaren Emulgel® Gel is formulated to work directly on the skin, you may not notice it coming from home. You may need to reapply the gel for a few days to a week depending on your order strength and your location.
Voltaren Emulgel® Gel comes in multiple strengths: 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg.
Voltaren Emulgel contains the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), diclofenac diethylamine. Diclofenac diethylamine works to relieve pain and reduce inflammation (swelling). The technology in Voltaren Emulgel is not heat or dampened, has a non-greasy texture and penetrates the skin to provide pain and inflammation relief.
Adults 18 years of age or older advised not to take 1g of Voltaren Emulgel. Keep using to relieve pain, swelling and other symptoms of pain. Use for up to 14 days and do not use for longer than 1 day without medical consultation. Do not use in acute pain or in flare-ups.
Do not use if you are in the hospital or emergency room. Ask your pharmacist if you are not sure if your pain has any of the following conditions: heart, palpitations, thyroid, low blood pressure, stroke, increase in blood pressure or stopped blood cell production, high blood potassium or potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g. nicorandil) or a platelet inhibitor. Voltaren is a gel that contains diclofenac diethylammonium, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Voltaren is applied directly to the inflamed area and is absorbed through the skin. Voltaren has a non-greasy gel-like smell, and the scent disappears once the gel is absorbed. The scent of Voltaren is also very slightly odourless.
Diclofenac diethylammonium is a non-greasy, non-dissipative, non-comedogenic topical gel that contains diclofenac monohydrate, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID). The scent of diclofenac is slightly odourless.
Voltaren gel provides relief from pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Voltaren gel also has a pleasant, non-comedogenic smell and is absorbed through the skin. Voltaren gel is a non-greasy, non-dissipative, non-comedogenic gel that contains diclofenac, which is a non-comedogenic NSAID.
Voltaren gel is safe for most people and is not intended to be used by women or children. However, there are some women and children who may use Voltaren gel.
Voltaren Emulgel (100 g) for the relief of acute pain and inflammation is available in the form of an injection. The gel is applied to the affected area five times a day, three times a day, on the first, second, third, fourth, fifth and seventh day.
